One two-month voyage through Australia has been cancelled days after the tragic passing of an senior woman who was left behind by the cruise liner on a remote coastal location.

The elderly woman had been hiking on the tropical location with shipmates from the cruise ship, but broke off from the excursion for a rest. The vessel left without her and came back several hours later after the crew realised the lady was not present.

A large-scale rescue mission discovered her body the following day.
