🔗 Share this article Vinted Users Share Anger About Sizing Modifications Members of the platform have expressed outrage after an update resulted in listings displaying inaccurate size information. This online marketplace has altered its size classifications for women's and children's clothes failing to inform all shoppers about the modification. Digital Channels Reaction Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category than originally posted due to the recalibration. Vinted explained the new system was more in line with similar services. It has advised users to examine their items and manually change the size if necessary, resulting in member annoyance. Measurement Approach Changes Before the change, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter with a size spectrum like S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the sizing has been recategorised - like an L measurement used to be a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. User Experiences One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded on Vinted with size 14 labels were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they're going to be very disappointed," she said. Necessary Adjustments Another shopper, based in Derby, explained she became annoyed due to the update requiring manual adjustment the measurements for "each individual item". "Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she stated. Marketplace Information The service features exceeding 100 million members, with 18 million British users. It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance when a surprising modification within the service has received backlash: previously, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods due to shopper criticism.
